The Streamlining AI in Learning Reimagination (SAILeR) project brings together five leading European universities, each contributing unique expertise in learning design, educational technology, and artificial intelligence. Together, they will co-create innovative and ethically grounded approaches to teaching and learning in the AI era.
- University of Zagreb, Faculty of Organization and Informatics (Croatia) – Project coordinator, led by Professor Blaženka Divjak, PhD. FOI leads WP1 (Project Management) and WP3 (AI assistant for Learning Design), co-leads WP5 (Study Program Learning Design) and provides overall scientific and methodological leadership in the project.
- University of Oulu (Finland) – led by Professor Hanni Muukkonen, PhD, is responsible for WP2 (Vision of Learning Design),
- Goethe University Frankfurt (Germany) – led by Professor Alexander Tillmann, PhD, leads WP4 (Learning Design and Course Delivery Ecosystem) and co-leads WP2 (Vision of Learning Design)
- Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain) – led by Dr. Eva Jiménez Lacasa, leads WP5 (Study Program Learning Design), bringing extensive experience in online education, curriculum design, and open educational resources.
- University of Groningen (Netherlands) – led by Dr. Jan Folkert Deinum, co-leads WP3 (AI Assistant for Learning Design) and WP4 (Learning Design and Course Delivery Ecosystem)
The project’s Quality Assurance Committee (QAC) includes three distinguished external experts:

- Prof. Wim Van Petegem (KU Leuven, Belgium)
- Prof. Mirza Žižak (University of Zagreb School of Medicine)
