The project 'Streamlining AI in Learning Reimagination', approved by the Erasmus+ programme - KA220-HED - Cooperation partnerships in higher education, started with its activities in November 2025.
SAILeR aims to provide a new perspective on learning design starting from an educators’ vision of a study program and courses aligned with the study program. Educators will have a conductor role, but will be supported by an AI assistant and a free-to-use learning design tool. Learning analytics will help educators to prepare meaningful learning design and be used as the basis for AI-supported learning content creation. Our aim is to engage at least 1000 educators in Europe and worldwide.

The University of Zagreb Faculty of Organization and Informatics is coordinating this EU project led by Full Prof. Blaženka Divjak, PhD. Project partners are the Goethe University (Germany), the University of Oulu (Finland), University of Groningen (The Netherlands) and Fundació per a la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain).

Total project budget is 400.000,00 €.
Project duration is 3 years (01/11/2025– 31/10/2028).

Project objectives

Wider objective:
Empowering educators to improve the quality of teaching and learning in the artificial intelligence (AI) era by supporting them in taking over a conductor role and developing personalized learning journeys by researching, creating and implementing the synergies between innovative visions of learning, learning design (LD), AI and learning analytics (LA).

Specific objectives:

  • SO1. Creating communities of practice and effective partnership in line with contemporary project management practices and empowering educators across Europe in meaningful use of AI and LD in educational practices
  • SO2. Bringing LD closer to educators by providing a storytelling environment to prepare a guiding vision of LD
  • SO3. Harnessing the potential of AI to support educators in developing sound LD in line with the Bologna principles
  • SO4. Upgrading the links between the LD concept and tool, LMS and AI assistance and enabling content creation to support educators in creating meaningful learning experiences
  • SO5. Broadening the scope of application of LD to student-centered study programs and complex curricula and supporting policy development to streamline meaningful use of AI and LD in educational practices
